In any genre of music there are those who innovate and push the boundary's beyond the accepted standards of the time. Metal of the 90s .com examines the best speed metal, death metal and heavy metal bands from the decade that saw metal mature and explode into the sub-genres that exist now. The 1980's and 1990's produced the cream of the crop in the metal scene. Their influence is heard in almost every guitar riff spewed by the Nu-Metal bands that permeate the airwaves today.

These are the originals... Where it all started.

Most bands will have a complete listing of all albums, members and their equipment, links to the official sites and tablature. Reviews of each CD along with notable FAQ's and historical notations about the metal scene and the bands contribution to it will be added in time.

This site is a work in progress and will likely never be "finished" as long as the pioneers of metal continue to create their masterpieces into the 21st century. In the meantime feel free to stop by the forum for discussions about your favorite metal bands or your own musical endeavours.
