Blotted Science From the mind of guitarist/composer Ron Jarzombek comes his latest project, Blotted Science. Featuring Alex Webster (Cannibal Corpse) on bass and Charlie Zeleny beating the skins in what might be progressive metals finest hour.
The album, titled The Machinations of Dementia, is a masterpiece in every sense of the word. Chunky riffs, blazing soloing and mind bending off tempo drumming all add up to the first true death metal influenced progressive album. The tracks "Synaptic Plasticity", "Laser Lobotomy" and "E.E.G. Tracings" are among our favorites due to the perfect blend of riffage and virtuosity displayed. Ron leverages his own unique writing system which he calls "The Circle of 12 Tones" to the fullest effect and this album shows its power and flexibility. Now if he can only hurry up and get that instructional DVD out to enlighten the guitar players among up of its intricacies :) |
