Dark Angel was founded in LA California in 1981 though it wasn't until 1984 that their first album, We Have Arrived, was released. It was this year when they recruited the (now) legendary drummer Gene Hoglan who showed he was a man of many talents by penning the lyrics for the bands next four albums.

The follow-up album Darkness Descends was released in 1986.
